Trash to Treasure

I have to show my "trash treasure."

I was with a friend of mine back in August helping her be a bus (van) driver. At one house we stopped at, they had a neighbor that had put this cool red chair out. It's a slatted chair and it was missing a slat. I thought that I could definitely put it to good use even if I didn't replace the slat.

Here is what I ended up with!! I love it! It is on the ledge above my front door.

I think it turned out really nice. What do you think?

My husband and my friend thought I was crazy. :)

Have you ever picked up someone else's trash and used it for your own treasure? I know my step-mom has done it, but just curious if anyone else (not in my family) has done it. :)

It is bedtime, but I'm going to squeeze in one more comment before I go to bed!
In your comment today, I loved your idea for text messaging yourself... this will show you how old my phone is. I have no text message capabilities. So, yes, I need a new phone. BUT... when I get it, I'm texting myself, baby! Thanks for the tip!

Funny!! Just remember that you can save it as a draft (when you get that new phone) instead of actually sending it. That way you don't get charged for it. It's like having a virtual notepad at all times. I'm never without my phone.
