Weighty Issues

I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I was always the chunky kid in my class. I hated that but it didn't really bother me until Jr. High. Since then though, I have always tried to slim down.

I did loose quite a bit of weight my junior year in high school when I got braces and didn't eat because it hurt. I got down to a size 5. That was the smallest I ever was. Once I graduated from high school I did what many college kids do, I put on some pounds.

During college I gained weight and lost weight many times. Twice I went on Weight Watchers and lost 30lbs each time. I don't know why I never stuck with it. After I got married, again, I went on many different diets.

After I had my kids the struggle got worse. Once, before I got pregnant with my first daughter, I participated in the Weigh Down Diet. I did good and again, lost 30 lbs. Years later I decided to do the Light Weigh Diet which is basically the Catholic version of the Weigh Down Diet. I did not do as well with this. Now, I do not think it's either of the programs' faults. I think it has something to do with my mind set.

I'm wondering if there are any of you that have found that prayer and scripture regarding your weight has helped you loose or maintain your weight. Please reply to this and let me know.

My sister lost fifty pounds and she credits it to prayer. She said that every bite she took she asked herself if it was helping to beautify and make strong the temple of God, meaning her own body. She said it made a huge difference.

Ive thought about doing that but Ive never tried it. It certainly worked for though.

Oh thank you for that! That is awesome that she asked herself that. I will start doing that.

I know that prayer works everywhere else, why not with our weight?
