Keeping Sunday holy

Jennifer's comment to this post about resting on the Sabbath got me to thinking.

If your family observes Sunday as a day of rest, what are the rules that you provide for your children? For instance, I tell my kids:

1. That they are not allowed to invite friends over on Sundays.
2. We do not run errands on Sundays.
3. We can spend time playing games together, watching a movie, watching football (my favorite Sunday activity), playing outside or they can spend quiet time alone if they would like in their own rooms.

If you have certain rules, please share them. I'm asking because I'd like to know if I'm missing something. :) I want to make sure the kids realize that GOD created this day and we need to slow down and enjoy the wonderful world HE made for us.

You are so right - we should honor the Sabbath. I need to do this!

It is really hard some days. Today I found out that a new Walmart opened near my house. I was on my way home from adoration. Man, it was tempting to run by there since I didn't have any kids with me, but I knew I needed to stick to my own rule and I'm glad I did. :)
