During my CRHP weekend I made a commitment to honor the Sabbath and rest on Sundays. At first I thought that meant just taking the time to do the things that I like to do. Today I realized it's not just working on my crochet.
Once I got the baby down for a nap, I went to Adoration. It was awesome. I could have stayed there longer than I did. I was there for about an hour and 10 minutes. I used that time to study in my CRHP manual, pray and just rest. It's such a quiet, peaceful place that it is so easy to feel rested when you leave. The funny thing though............I don't like to leave.
I'm thankful that I have the opportunity to go be in the presence of the LORD any time I want. How wonderful a gift!
Thank you LORD for this blessing and the many other generous blessings you have given my family and I.

Observing the Sabbath has become a part of our family, too... and now it's my favorite day of the week! It takes a little extra effort to prepare for, but it's worth it. I always encourage anyone trying it... it's quite a change from the world's way of doing things. Every once in a blue moon I'll have to get out for some reason on a Sunday and I'm always so surprised at the traffic and the full parking lots! I think it's because the kids have games on Saturdays, so Sundays have become "errand day." Whew. It makes me tired to think of never getting a day of rest, now. It's truly a good gift, not a burden!
I totally agree. It has become my favorite day because I know that no matter what I get to rest on that day.
I have also signed up for Perpetual Adoration at church and that just further guarantees that I get the quiet time with GOD.
I agree about Saturdays being game days. It's so hard to run errands on those days, but I do my best to get it all done that day.
You made me think of a new question I can post about. Thanks!!
